FRANCES: My name is Frances Paulsma. Through the suggestion of my brother, who has lost an eye, is how I came to, come to, Dr. Justo’s office here. It is just so convenient here. I am 5 minutes from the office here and I was just so delighted to meet the staff. They are just such a great bunch of people. The all-around compassion that comes out of this particular office is super. One of the main reasons that I found that I needed to have something done, was that I was having more difficulty at night and the lamp lights, or the street lights, and so forth, were getting to be like starbursts. But, some of the difficulties besides that was I was watching TV and it was very stressing to see some of the clarity and the colors were sort of getting distorted. I knew that something was definitely taking place. Naturally, after I had the cataract surgery, I was one of the more fortunate ones that the first cataract surgery that I had, it was almost like I had 20/20 vision. Even Dr. Justo was rather surprised. He took the bandage off and it was like “oh my gosh!” So, that was real exciting to be able to able to have that good vision so quickly. And a week or two later we had the other eye. That was a little bit slower, but it is just so great to not have, after 35 years of carrying glasses and having them on my head all the time, it is like my brother said. He had his done the very same day that I did and it is like seeing blue sky again and colors were bright. So, it was real exciting. Life is good. I have told many people, you know, about it and how pleased I am because it has been a real change for me. When I go back to South Dakota, one of the things they said, “There is something different. You look so much nicer now.” I am pleased to have that comment because it feels good. I just feel better about myself. So, that is a plus. It was a pleasure and I do certainly recommend. I would do it over again. I hope I don’t have to, but I’m so happy that I’ve done it.
