Happy Veteran's Day!

As you opened your eyes this morning, I hope your thoughts were the same as mine: As I take in the morning air and the beauty of this Fall season, my first action today is to offer a moment of silence in tribute of all of those who serve this great nation, their families and those heroes whom we have lost along the way.

We can get caught up in what is at times dreadful news of terrible crime against humanity throughout the world - but we can also choose to be grateful that we have many heroes protecting us both close to home - and stationed far away from their homes - to protect us and to gift our children with lives many around this planet can only dream about.

So this morning, as I wake up and look out at the beautiful sky, I dedicate the day - my birthday - to our proud veterans and those who serve us far away, and right down the street at Luke Air Force Base.

Thank you for the greatest birthday gift that I could receive - a safe and free land for my children to grow and thrive. Each and every one of you and your family members are a true gift and you are appreciated.
