Important Message to Our Patients on Safety, Hours

As you may have already heard, Arizona Governor Doug Ducey on Thursday evening issued an executive order mandating the halt of all elective surgeries and all surgeries not considered life saving, in order to divert supplies to emergency and life saving medical needs.

Our service to you is very important to us, so in response to this mandate, we have implemented changes to our schedule aimed at upholding high safety standards while still providing needed care. Due to this statewide ban, we are required to postpone immediate elective surgeries including eyelid surgery, brow lift surgery, cataract surgery and liposuction.

If your procedure has had to be postponed,  you will have received a phone call from a  member of our team. We will do our best to get surgeries in our Accredited Surgery Center rescheduled promptly once the ban has lifted.

We are still open at our regular office hours. Our Medical Director & Founder, Emilio M. Justo, M.D., will only see surgical patients on a limited basis over the next two weeks. Dr. Mark Yates and Dr. Manuel Zambrano will continue to see our postoperative patients as well as any urgent and emergency patients, along with medically necessary eye exams throughout this time.

If you have an urgent eye problem and feel you need to be seen promptly, our office is here for you, but we ask that you call us at (623) 975-2020 to schedule a same day appointment rather than walk in.

To maintain a safe atmosphere for patients and our staff, we have significantly reduced the number of patients and their family members who will be in our offices at any one time. Although we will still be seeing patients on a more limited basis, we may need to reach out to you to reschedule your appointment. Please understand if you are called and asked to reschedule that your care is very important to us, but during these unprecedented times we must put your safety as a priority.

We will be reevaluating our schedule on at least a weekly basis, if not daily.

It is important that you know we are monitoring the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and will follow our usual OSHA guidelines for infection control. We are closely following the Center for Disease Control's recommendations as we learn more about the Coronavirus.  We have increased our strong disinfection protocol and maintaining deep cleaning standards.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR IMPENDING APPOINTMENTS:

As always during the cold and flu season that we are now in, we ask that you reschedule any appointment if you feel ill, have experienced a fever within the last 24 hours or are concerned that you may have been exposed to someone with these symptoms. We will be asking screening questions as patients arrive.

If you are escorted to your appointment by a family member, friend or driver, we ask that your escort or family member wait in the car throughout your exam to minimize the patient numbers at the clinic at any one time.

When you check in, we will also offer you the opportunity to go back out to your car and wait for us to call you on your cell phone when we are ready to see you.

If you would like to try on eyeglasses, please ask one of our opticians to hand you the frames you are interested in, to ensure all frames are kept clean for you.

It is very important that you wash your hands regularly, and we kindly request that you use one of our hand sanitizers on the front desk counter or the wall when you arrive.

Our hearts are behind the hard work by the medical professionals serving in emergency rooms and hospitals and all who are working to keep us well during this COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic.

You are like family to us, and encourage you to contact us if you have any questions.
