Optical Boutique Manager Enjoys Helping Patients Find New Sight and a New Look
Kate Gaskins, optical boutique manager of Just for Eyes, explains the enjoyment she share with patients who are happy and fulfilled by their new and improved eyesight. The best part of her job is when patients put on their new glasses and love their new sight and new look. Kate Gaskins: The best part of my job absolutely, hands down, has to be when patients put on their new glasses and they just are elated to see that they can see. They look around the room and they are just smiling. Then they look in the mirror at themselves and they see how wonderful they look with their look, fresh new look. It’s just a great feeling. They look in the mirror at themselves and they say, “Wow! I love my new look! This is great!” When they are happy and fulfilled like that, it just gives you a sense of fulfillment and happiness because you helped create that process. You helped them with that happiness. I love Dr. Clark. She is very enthusiastic. Very energetic. Very knowledgeable. She is probably the most well-trained, most knowledgeable medical optometrist that I have had the pleasure of working with and patients just love her. They will come to me to order glasses after seeing her and just say, “Oh, I just loved her!” This is not a 9-to-5 job. I actually enjoy coming to work every morning because you never know what is going to happen. There is always going to be something new and different with all the different services that we offer under one roof here; between the ophthalmology and optometry and the cosmetics, not to mention the optical for myself. It is always going to be exciting and new.
