MS. DAWN VanMETER: I have been practicing with Dr. Justo since the year 2000, and I think that truly the advantage that that has is, from a patient standpoint, they really enjoy being able to come back into the practice and seeing the same familiar faces. And whether they're coming in every three months, every six months, or once a year, we can kind of get updated on what's been going on in their life. And it's just a really good rapport that we get to build with the patients.
We always like to kind of get a baseline foundation of them and their history, where they're from, kind of the activities that they enjoy doing, or things from that standpoint, so we can ensure that what we're offering or what we're recommending is going to be the best recommendation for what they're looking for.
The patients here are not a number. We truly care about each one of them individually and what is going on personally, as well as with the health of their eyes, and any other issues going on.
When I look into a patient's eyes, sometimes you can see anxiety, because they're unsure, especially if they're coming in for something cosmetic and they've never done it before, they're kind of on the border of, "Do I take this step or do I not?" And it's really neat to be able to educate them on the procedures, and that there really, for the most part, is minimal down time, and that it's something that can really help. We want to put their mind at ease.
What I love about Dr. Justo is just his personality. He's very down to earth. He's not intimidating to people, and the patients pick up on that. He truly cares about what they're here for, and wants to make sure that all of their questions are answered to its fullest extent. He never wants to rush anybody out of the office, so he'll make sure that all their questions are answered, and that they feel comfortable with the decisions that they choose to make.
I enjoy being able to help people, especially out here in the Sun City areas where we practice, because a lot of the people are alone. And they don't have anybody to talk to or anybody around, so being able to offer them something to make them feel better about themselves, offer a friendly ear to listen to some of the stories that they have, 'cause they don't have anybody to talk to, all of that is what I look forward to and what I enjoy with my job.
