Recently there have been announcements among various government leaders on the topic of whether it continues to be appropriate to wear masks in very specific settings, and asking that businesses such as ours continue to review our public safety and mask requirements. As a business providing important health care services to the community, we are committed to top quality care that also prevents the spread of any illness, including COVID-19.  While we respect everyone’s personal choices surrounding this matter, the nature of our work with our patients require that we work in close proximity of each other and therefore we believe it is in the best interest of our business to continue wearing masks until further notice.  These precautions are appropriate given the demographics of many of our patients that place them in what medical experts consider “at risk” groups that are important to us to keep safe and well.
We will revisit this policy once we have more time and information to evaluate the impact the executive order has on our industry and community.  In the meantime, we respectfully ask that while you are providing us the privilege of caring for you and your loved ones, that you please respect our mask policy. Masks are required on every individual in the building, covering the mouth and nose.
We understand that this has been a trying time for all involved, and we are all ready to get back to normal as soon as possible. We are working hard to create processes that will allow us to do so shortly. We are confident that within a short time, if we can all work together, we will return to normal. We are very excited to see your smiling faces again, soon.

Eyelid Surgery Highlighted at Free Gala Event

Moments After LIVE Eyelid Surgery, Gala 2015

Janine Elliot held her golf club and looked out at the course, enjoying waves of sunlight that brightened her day - her view no longer restricted by droopy eyelids.

Just two weeks since the West Valley resident underwent the 20-minute outpatient surgery at the Arizona Eye Institute & Cosmetic Laser Center, she's passionate about educating her community about life-transforming procedure performed by Medical Director Emilio M. Justo, M.D.

Elliot will bring friends also interested in eyelid surgery to the practice's 27 year Anniversary Gala planned 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Friday, March 4. The free event will include two live streamed eyelid surgery procedures for other prospective patients to watch, in addition to a variety of cosmetic health and beauty demonstrations.

The public is invited to the enjoy live entertainment, catered food, valuable raffles and steep discounts exclusive to the one-day event. The event is attended by residents from throughout the region.

"This was something I had long thought about doing, but I had no idea that my Medicare would cover it," Janine explains. "When I went in to talk to Dr. Justo, he was just so comprehensive, so pleasant. I just really liked him."

"The surgery definitely has improved my vision. I do look better already since my surgery, and my eyes just feel so much lighter. Golfing today is a good test for me as I get used to having my peripheral vision back!"

After paying regularly for her insurance, she says she was surprised to learn that her Medicare coverage and supplemental insurance covered the procedure, due to the dramatic improvement to her vision.

"I really have been spreading the news to everyone I know, letting them know that their insurance could cover a procedure that could help them see so much better," she said.

Dr. Justo encouraged the public to attend the free Gala, where they can ask staff and doctors about procedures, and talk to real patients who've already undergone surgeries including eyelid and laser cataract surgery.

"What I enjoy most about our annual Gala is getting to see everyone and celebrate another year of improved vision and health," Dr. Justo said. "I welcome anyone to stop in and enjoy themselves."
