Recently there have been announcements among various government leaders on the topic of whether it continues to be appropriate to wear masks in very specific settings, and asking that businesses such as ours continue to review our public safety and mask requirements. As a business providing important health care services to the community, we are committed to top quality care that also prevents the spread of any illness, including COVID-19.  While we respect everyone’s personal choices surrounding this matter, the nature of our work with our patients require that we work in close proximity of each other and therefore we believe it is in the best interest of our business to continue wearing masks until further notice.  These precautions are appropriate given the demographics of many of our patients that place them in what medical experts consider “at risk” groups that are important to us to keep safe and well.
We will revisit this policy once we have more time and information to evaluate the impact the executive order has on our industry and community.  In the meantime, we respectfully ask that while you are providing us the privilege of caring for you and your loved ones, that you please respect our mask policy. Masks are required on every individual in the building, covering the mouth and nose.
We understand that this has been a trying time for all involved, and we are all ready to get back to normal as soon as possible. We are working hard to create processes that will allow us to do so shortly. We are confident that within a short time, if we can all work together, we will return to normal. We are very excited to see your smiling faces again, soon.

Magical Gala Moment By Emilio Justo on March 22, 2017

Eyelid Surgery Headlines Gala

It was a magical moment for a local woman as she walked out to a cheering crowd at Arizona Eye Institute & Cosmetic Laser Center.

"You look beautiful!"

The voice came from the gathering crowd that looked on as Vickie Miresse walked straight out into her audience just moments after undergoing upper eyelid surgery.

The entire procedure was streamed on TV live during her surgery as part of the Institute's 28th Anniversary Gala, which attracted about 500 guests for tours, demonstrations and celebration.

"There was no pain at all," Vickie told the crowd as they got a close- up look at her immediate surgery results, following a CO2 laser procedure performed by Arizona Eye Institute Founder and Medical Director, Emilio M. Justo, M.D.  "They held my hand the entire time."

She looked about in awe, adding, "My field of vision has just opened up!"

Days later, Vickie said that her life had changed with her newfound peripheral vision, that had been restored during the laser upper eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty. Dr. Justo removed excess skin that was blocking her view.  "I feel like I have such a wider vision. I don't feel like I have to squint to see anymore. I used to kind of push my face up so that I could see better."

The surgery also restored her eye's original beautiful contours, and has inspired her to look into contact lenses and to wear makeup more often, she said.

"As an eye physician and cosmetic surgeon, I have the unique honor of having performed thousands of upper and lower eyelid surgeries," said Dr. Justo, "and successfully getting the majority of the upper eyelid procedures authorized by insurance providers."

"I want to thank everyone who came out to celebrate our 28th Anniversary Gala. I welcome anyone to come see if we can help you utilize your current insurance to improve your vision and feel better about yourself, with upper eyelid surgery."
