Diabetic Retinopathy
Diabetic Retinopathy
Diabetic retinopathy is the most common diabetic eye disease and a leading cause of blindness in American adults. Symptoms of this disease include swollen blood vessels on the retina that may leak, or new blood vessels that grow on the surface of the retina.
Due to its lack of symptoms until the disease has become severe, it is important for people with diabetes to have an eye exam every year. During the exam, the doctor will dilate the eyes to check for signs of the disease.
Schedule an exam today, and pass along the word. Prevention is key!
