July is Dry Eye Awareness Month

July is Dry Eye Awareness Month, and we wanted to take this opportunity to help you understand more about what dry eye syndrome is, and how our technology can help you diagnose whether you suffer from dry eye.

Watch this video to learn more about dry eye and testing!

Dry eye syndrome is a common condition in which the tears or tear ducts fail to sufficiently lubricate the eyes. The condition can cause redness, irritation, light sensitivity, runny eyes, and many other symptoms. At the Arizona Eye Institute & Cosmetic Laser Center, we use the most advanced technologies to diagnose and manage symptoms of dry eye syndrome. Our doctors will recommend the treatment that is best suited to your needs. In many cases, eye drops are sufficient to treat dry eye.

However, in many cases of dry eye syndrome, proper management will include things such as lubricating gels, proprietary vitamin supplementation, punctal plugs, and even prescription grade eyedrops. Each patient will require his/her own customized management plan to achieve best results in controlling dry eye symptoms.
