DR. EMILIO JUSTO: Our practice specializes in both ophthalmology as well as cosmetic surgical and nonsurgical procedures. From an ophthalmology perspective, I perform no-stitch, no-needle, no-patch cataract surgery for fast visual rehabilitation. In addition to providing modern state-of-the-art cataract surgery, our ophthalmology practice also specializes in providing the diagnosis and management of macular degeneration and glaucoma. Additionally, we see patients with diabetes, dry eye syndrome, and also for routine annual examination and fitting for eyeglasses and contact lenses. As far as our cosmetic procedures, we offer both surgical and nonsurgical avenues of improvement. From a surgical perspective, we specialize in what is called laser blepharoplasty. This is using the carbon dioxide laser to perform eyelid surgery both for the upper eyelids as well as the lower eyelids. Many patients do not realize that for heavy droopy upper eyelids, that quite often insurance may cover the procedure if it impinges on the peripheral vision or causes visual fatigue, headaches and eye strain. We perform cosmetic facelift surgery, neck lifts, endoscopic brow lifts, and chin augmentation. From a nonsurgical perspective, I personally perform BOTOX® and Dysport® injections to relax muscle contraction in the upper face that causes those unsightly vertical ‘elevens’ between the eyebrows, as well as the crows feet or smile lines. We also use tissue fillers which include Restylane® and Juvederm®, as well as Perlane® and Radiesse®. These help plump areas of the face, including the cheekbones, the nasolabial folds or smile lines, the marionette folds, and also for lip plumping or lip augmentation. Our practice also offers other nonsurgical procedures such as cosmetic permanent makeup, microdermabrasion, laser hair and tattoo removal, and sclerotherapy for those tiny, little unsightly spider veins. We perform a full range of cosmetic skincare including skin rejuvenation with the world-renowned Obagi Nu-Derm® skincare system, as well as the Obagi Blue Peel®.
