[00:00:17.760] Working at Arizona Eye Institute for over two decades, [00:00:21.400] I've really felt a sense of family because all of our employees [00:00:27.240] have known each other for many, many years. [00:00:29.480] Most of our staff have been here for quite a long time, [00:00:33.760] so we all work very well together. [00:00:35.360] We're very cohesive team. [00:00:38.160] What that does is it creates [00:00:40.440] a normalcy for the patients that are coming in year after year. [00:00:44.640] They're seeing the same faces. [00:00:46.480] Building that relationship with the patient, [00:00:48.080] it's building the trust with the patient where the patients trust you. [00:00:51.440] Nowadays, you don't want to just go anywhere [00:00:53.760] and trust your face and your results to just anybody. [00:00:58.160] Our goal is to provide quality care [00:01:00.640] and ensure that our patients have full understanding of what their options are. [00:01:05.360] Somebody has to have the experience. [00:01:07.880] They have to look at the patient's face through an artistic lens rather than just [00:01:12.240] sticking a needle in and filling in a line. [00:01:15.080] There's more to it than that. [00:01:16.800] We want the patient to feel like they're family, like we care about them. [00:01:21.080] We want them to have a great experience from the time they walk in the door [00:01:24.880] and check in at the front office, [00:01:26.800] when we take them back to do all the preliminary tests, [00:01:30.280] all the way through when they have their procedure done and after. [00:01:34.560] I love the fact that most of the patients that we see for their initial eye exams, [00:01:39.760] we also get to see during their surgery [00:01:41.840] and help out with their surgical procedures [00:01:44.120] and enjoy all the positive outcomes that come with that. [00:01:47.400] We have a lot of fun with our patients here. [00:01:49.960] I, in particular, love to have fun with the patients. [00:01:53.000] I've always thought that if you [00:01:55.400] really enjoy what you're doing, then it's really not work. [00:01:57.920] It's more like a hobby. [00:01:59.680] I feel like that's what we do here. [00:02:01.840] We have fun. [00:02:03.360] We're a big family that just cares about people [00:02:05.960] and takes care of people's vision and eye needs. [00:02:08.880] I've seen so many patients confidence be built just from being able [00:02:13.080] to regain their vision and be able to drive again after they had already lost [00:02:17.440] their license due to having visual problems from cataracts. [00:02:20.440] This is the most rewarding job I've ever had. [00:02:23.120] I get to see patients whose lives have been changed by having eyelid surgery. [00:02:27.680] I love being a part of the process. [00:02:29.680] Taking a patient who when they've come into us, [00:02:32.720] they have very little vision, [00:02:35.240] maybe they can only see motion in front of their face [00:02:38.080] and then after surgery, they now are seeing and they're able [00:02:42.320] to drive without glasses and they can get around their home and they can cook [00:02:45.800] for themselves and now have an independent life, [00:02:48.560] and it is just one of the most wonderful things [00:02:51.200] and rewarding things that we can do. [00:02:53.360] The best compliment that we can get as a staff is when our patients [00:02:59.240] refer their friends and family because they feel confident in us. [00:03:03.680] I like it when patients come in [00:03:05.400] and they think they're coming in for an eye exam, [00:03:07.600] and when they leave, they go, "Was that an eye exam?" [00:03:09.640] Because they're so happy. I love that.
