A Comprehensive Eye Surgery Consultation Leads to Great Care

Dr. Emilio Justo walks viewers through the experience of their first visit. Dr. Justo enjoys learning more about his patients so that he can build a comfortable and friendly relationship with them. Each patient will have a detailed, one-on-one eye surgery consultation with their doctor to ensure that patient education and preparedness is a priority.

DR. EMILIO JUSTO: Our practice has prided itself in performing and giving exceptional service to our patients; both from a customer service standpoint, as well as from a surgical skills standpoint, and a diagnostic standpoint. So, when I meet a patient for the first time, I like to sit down with them, learn a little bit about them, their hobbies, their likes, their dislikes, where they originated from, and establish some patient rapport and some bond. So that they feel at ease and so they can feel comfortable with me and be able to speak openly with me. I greet them. I give them a big smile, shake their hand. When I am with that patient, I want to answer all their questions. I never rush in and out of the examining room. I look at them; ask them before I leave, are there any other questions that I have left unanswered. I give them the opportunity, every opportunity, to ask as many questions as they wish. I want to really get to know them. I want them to feel comfortable. Once I do feel that a good rapport and bond has been established, then we can talk about their medical reasons for being here, or in the case of a cosmetic procedure, we can talk about their needs, goals and desires from a cosmetic perspective. We share a common goal between the staff and myself to make sure that the patient’s needs are met at the highest level.
